You will be responsible for examining and delivering reports in accordance with technical standards. The role involves, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Assessment, strengthening and design of metal/reinforced concrete rail/road carrying bridges and structures
Preparation of feasibility studies and design of strengthening / maintenance schemes
Assessment/design of metal/r.c./brick structures and foundations to permissible and limit state codes
Assessment/analysis of masonry arch bridges
Provide engineering judgement and experience within the current assessment teams and train other engineers in the processes
Undertake principal inspections of structures as part of the assessment process in accordance with railway standards and procedures
Carry out assessment works within agreed costs and programme
