Principal Mechanical Designer to work for a company specialising in electronic subsystems for missiles and mutronics, i.e fuzes, sensors and seekers with additional expertise in battlefield systems, hazard analysis, materials science and environmental testing services. The group's purpose is to provide the necessary mechanical engineering and design expertise to develop products from creation through qualification. You will be responsible for interpreting project requirements and mechanical responsibility at project level; utilising traditional methods and mechanical CAD and analysis software tools, apply design and manufacturing skills to the creation and development of product design concepts, and provide support to product manufacture and post-design customer needs. You must have 5 years relevant mechanical design experience developing equipment to meet harsh environment specifications; a strong understanding of manufacturing processes using Pro-Engineer and Pro-Intralink / PDm-Link; produce mechanical designs to meet defined technical and manufacturing requirements. Conduct analysis and reviews to ensure both concept and detailed design solutions meet requirements; support development of mechanical designs into proto-type through to production.; prepare documentation for fabrication of product, including manufacturing plans, line layouts and tooling; liase with both supplier and customer. You must be degree or HNC qualified. This is a permanent role paying iro GBP35k.
