PCB Design Engineer - Cadence Allegro
PCB Design Engineer sought by leading London / Essex based international manufacturer of single board computer products using leading-edge microprocessors for wire line networking applications.
The Job:
Working with our Hardware Design Engineers, you will be responsible for designing complex multi-layer SMT and PTH PCBs using the latest Cadence Allegro PCB and Allegro Design Entry HDL tools.
Experience using Skill and Perl scripting language would be an advantage. The PCBs are typically 14 layers with high speed signals and high component densities, including many BGA devices.
The position also involves the generation of PCB assembly documentation and data, and liaison with the production team to ensure that the products are suitable for manufacture.
Most of our manufacturing is done in-house. The position is particularly suited for self-motivated individuals who can use their own initiative. As short development timescales are a key part of our strategy, our engineers are quickly involved in many different projects.
Qualifications:
Candidates should ideally be qualified to at least HNC level, with experience of most of the following. Familiarity with the first is mandatory.
Cadence Allegro design tools, including the Specctra router.
Designing mixed technology multi-layer PCBs.
High-speed digital logic PCB design rules.
Producing assembly documentation.
Familiarity with the Allegro Constraint Manager would be a big advantage.
