KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designing network interfaces (SNMP, TL1, CLI) for subsystems products. Producing architecture and High level design documents. Implementing software designs in C/C++. Unit testing of written code. Participation in peer code reviews. Investigation of technical issues during verification phase of product development.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
C/C++ (essential).
SNMP agent / MIB.
TL1.
CLI.
Embedded databases.
TCP/IP.
Vx-works Development and debugging tool suite.
Graphical User Interface (GUI) design.
Telecoms Network Architecture.
GENERAL SOFTWARE SKILLS:
Experience in software product development, Structured Design Process (Design Specifications, Software Design), Coding in C, C++, UDP Sockets, Software Testability Issues.
Knowledge of the telecom market, SDH/Sonet, optical technology, internet protocols, packet switching.
Knowledge of current technologies in the area of network processing, especially optical transmission - DWDM, amplification, packet switching and filtering.
Configuration Management tools and Problem Tracking tools experience.
Multi site development experience would be an advantage.
Digital hardware knowledge would be an advantage.
