Metallurgist – Diesel Engineer Manufacturer
Our client is a leading manufacturer of Diesel engines for heavy equipment, marine and industrial uses.
The seek an experienced graduate level Metallurgist to join their team investigating production, service and supply problems.
The role:
- Investigation of production, manufacturing and in-service metallurgical as well as general materials issues.
- Supervision of laboratory staff
- Liaison with colleagues, academia and consultancies on materials issues
- Provision of Technical Support to other departments
- Maintenance and development of lab equipment
- Writing of Engineering standards.
The candidate:
- Graduate level Metallurgist or Materials Scientist
- Experience with SEM, Optical and NDT inspection techniques.
- Experience of forensic metallurgy – investigating metallurgical failures.
- Knowledge of production techniques and effect on materials properties.
- Knowledge of tribology, fatigue and fracture science.
- Ideally previous experience working with Diesel Engines.
