Due to on-going expansion our client now has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer in the Lancashire area. Working shifts are 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm, you will be expected to have good diagnostic and fault finding and repair skills and work on preventative and reactive maintenance.
Main Responsibilities;
To coordinate and cooperate with production supervision on a day to day basis, to ensure the smooth running and availability of the production operation.
To carry out effective and timely repairs to "out of action" plant.
To carry out planned maintenance to the required standard.
To assist in the ongoing development of a Health and Safety culture within the function.
To assist in the ongoing development and review of Risk Assessments.
To actively participate in supporting the company's Continuous Improvement initiative.
To carry out project works assigned to schedule.
To develop self and others in line with factory requirements.
To assist in the integration of new machinery.
To assist in the continuing improvement of the engineering department.
The successful candidate will have excellent electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, ideally combined PLC fault-finding skills. Ideally you will come from a manufacturing background and ideally with a 16th edition qualification (although this is not essential).
The company will be very interested if you have welding and refrigeration experience as well as a good understanding of Pneumatics.
