My client is a Fortune 500 process engineering (fluids), water & chemical technology firm operating in key sectors throughout the UK. They are regarded as a strong career option by many engineers in the chemical sector and are experiencing rapid growth in this division.
Recent expansion has led to several new roles including this management position: Regional Operations Manager, Northern England. Managing some 50 operational and site staff across a number of key sites in this region you will take overall control of operational strategy, maintenance aspects, ensure Health & Safety and Quality systems are adequate. The ability to multi-task and maintain an eye on the operational well-being of various sites is key as well as having a commercial eye to continually optimise profitability whilst maintaining high levels of customer service and KPI's.
A proven man manager in a hands-on process engineering environment is essential for this role as is location - we require candidates living in Northern England. At least 3-4 years man management is required as well as experience in the process sector, suitable industry backgrounds are likely to include : Chemical, Water, Oil & Gas, Wastewater and Petrochemical. Ideally you will have had some P&L responsibility in the past and be educated to HND/BSc level in an engineering discipline. You should be able to demonstrate experience and a strong grasp of the day to day challenges that site work presents, as well as understanding technical issues and operational risk. Additionally someone with good client liaison skills, problem solving skills and leadership qualities are sought after characteristics for this position.
My client offers a base salary + bonus circa £45-55k + car + benefits
