Senior Electronics / Embedded Software Engineers
Cambs
£30k-£45k
You should have a minimum of 5 years in a product development or intellectual property development environment, preferably in telecommunications or wireless communications. You must be capable of interacting on a business development level as well as technically.
Essential skills:
· Thorough knowledge of embedded C /C++
· Understanding of real-time and hardware issues
· Hardware/software system level design
· Familiarity with assembler coding
· Understanding of electronic hardware and systems - especially processors.
· Proven project management capabilities are expected from more senior candidates.
You should be:
· A first-class technical software engineer.
· Able to use initiative and take responsibility. To work with minimal supervision.
· Creative but accurate and self-critical.
· Good communicator - both within teams and with clients.
· Practical, hands-on and enthusiastic team player.
· Can work to deadlines under pressure.
You should have:
· 1st or 2.1 honours degree from a good engineering university.
· Track record of successful product development through to production.
Depending on your skills and experience you will deliver product development assignments including system architecture, hands-on development, team leading, multi-discipline project leading, and software process development, also representing the company to blue-chip clients.
For the more senior role you should have thorough knowledge and recent experience of embedded systems - system architecture, hardware interfaces, embedded C and C++, RTOS, Communications protocols. This experience should include some of VxWorks, Linux, CE, Symbian, UML, TCP/IP. You should be a commercially aware, committed, first-class technical software professional willing to take responsibility and work within budgets and deadlines.
