My client in Hampshire are seeking to recruit an EMC Approvals Engineer.
My client markets equipment in over 100 countries around the world and third party regulatory and certification requirements have to be met to gain access to these markets. They have a wide range of international product type approvals which are used to support the commercial objectives of the Sales and Marketing team.
An opportunity exists within the Conformance Department for an Approvals Engineer. The successful applicant will set up and run international product approval projects which verify that products meet the requirements of various international bodies and European technical directives.
The responsibilities that the successful candidate will have are;
Preparing technical submissions to certification bodies and managing the progression of these projects from the initial submission stage through to laboratory testing and certification and/or listing.
Organizing third party test work to ensure that the requirements of the European New Approach Directives, such as the EMC Directive, the Low Voltage Directive and the ATEX Directive, are met.
Arranging for compatibility assessments to be carried out between products and customers control and indicating panels at third party laboratories.
Undertaking cross listing/multiple listing projects with various certification and approval bodies that will support customers' product branding requirements.
Working as part of a New Product Development Team within the business and be responsible for dealing with all issues relating to regulatory compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
Educated to degree or HNC standard in either the physical sciences or an engineering discipline.
Knowledge of national and international technical standards in areas such as fire, marine safety. EMC and environmental testing.
Knowledge of European New Approach Directives.
Valid driving licence and availability to undertake national and international travel.
