This is an opportunity to join a new and exciting fabless semiconductor company that is developing a breakthrough new technology initially to be targeted at the wireless market. Set up and run by a very senior management team with prior experience in very successful start-ups. They are building a wireless systems group and are seeking Algorithm Engineers for the companys future development. The ideal candidates will have the following experience and skills: ·Detailed knowledge of cellular air-interfaces (such as cdma2000, WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, IS-136, AMPS, TACS etc) ·Terminal product development experience ·Good theoretical understanding of coding theory (turbo codes, convolutional codes, trellis codes, LDPC codes, Reed-Solomon codes etc.) as well as practical implementation issues ·Modulation (pilot-assisted demodulation techniques etc.) ·Equalisation (matched filtering, DFE, maximum-likelihood techniques) ·Control loops as applied to communication systems (time-tracking, power control, AGC, AFC etc). ·Quantisation and other non-linear effects. ·Monte-Carlo simulation issues and tools (C, Matlab) The candidate should have an excellent academic background (Ph.D and at least a 2:1 degree from a top-tier university) and have at least 5 years relevant experience since graduating. They should also be highly motivated and excited by the prospect of working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
