This is an opportunity to join a new and exciting fabless semiconductor company that is developing a breakthrough new technology initially to be targeted at the wireless market. Set up and run by a very senior management team with prior experience in very successful start-ups. They are building a wireless systems group and the successful candidates will be integral to the companys future development. You will have a strong academic record with a degree from a red brick university and a minimum 3 years commercial experience of cellular systems and protocol stack development. Also required is experience of embedded RTOSs and related debug tools, scripting of basestation emulator test equipment and SDL, C/C++ and assembler programming languages The main responsibilities of the role are the porting, optimisation and validation of a 3rd Party dual-mode 3GSM to GSM/WCDMA baseband chipsets. The initial focus will be to develop the real-time Layer 1, but will also extend to all layers of the stack. In addition the stack engineers will work in conjunction with the system team to define the system architecture, as well as platform debug, trace, and integration features.
