A specialist power semiconductor manufacturer is planning to set-up a technical centre within the West Midlands to support European customers. This individual will be the first engineer within Europe and their role will encompass many features as the office develops and grows.
The individual must be able to demonstrate the following:
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of specific applications within the Power semiconductor arena, Power MOS, DC to DC conversion and understand the specification of components (IC) required for such applications. The candidate should also be able to provide appropriate customer specific solutions to using single or multiple products with recommendations for suitable peripheral components as required.
The successful candidate will be able to assemble a demo-board (a fully populated evaluation board) from a circuit diagram assuming the required components, test all aspects of the circuit, take measurements and prepare graph and technical data.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of competitor products, be aware of product trends and have a good understanding or new features and design ideas. The candidate will also be able to describe the various merits and/or demerits of applicable devices for a given application.
This person should have a thirst for knowledge, be naturally curious, always looking for new things and keen to expand their own personal knowledge.
This candidate will be an ambitious and motivated individual.
Individuals require a deep understanding DC/DC converters and power IC, including a detailed understanding of the internal operation of power supplies - DC/DC IC and the relationships with it's external components. The individual may currently be working within the semiconductor arena or an engineer seeking a move into an engineering / commercial role.
