My client is a forerunner and leading provider of complete semiconductor and modular solutions for digital multimedia products. Their devices are at the heart of all-in-one DAB and DVB-T set top box receivers, offering television and multimedia content through mobile phones, PDAs and in car entertainment systems. They are now seeking a Senior Software Engineer for full lifecycle development of software to enable use of the companys DVB-T and multimedia SoCs in high-volume consumer electronics products. This role includes specific responsibility for embedded driver software interfacing with hardware such as MPEG 2 transport stream interface, DVB common interface, MPEG-2 video decoder, graphics engine, TV encoder, ATAPI interface, Flash memory devices, DACs, SPDIF ports, serial ports, GPIO etc. Candidates will be experienced in developing embedded driver software with a minimum of 5 years experience of software engineering in the semiconductor, consumer electronics industries. Excellent C/C++ programming and experience of UNIX/Linux cross development tools e.g. make, GCC and CVS is a must. Previous experience in DAB and DVB is desirable but not essential.
