Our client, based in Essex is seeking an IC Layout Engineer. They are a global technology leader specialising in the design and manufacture of high-performance, analog intensive integrated circuits for fast growth markets, such as the video/multimedia, flat panels, data processing, instrumentation and communications markets.
In conjunction with design centers throughout North America, the UK Design Center develops mixed signal and analogue products for the power management and video signal processing markets utilising BiCMOS, CMOS and advanced bipolar technologies.
The successful candidate for the position of IC Layout Engineer will be part of a small team working closely with the IC designers delivering quality layout of cells, such as (amplifiers, bias generators, I/O). You will perform analog and mixed signal IC layout using Cadence Virtuoso and third party layout tools; verify construction and connectivity of design databases using Cadence Diva and Assura verification software; coordinate database shipments to IC mask vendors.
Preferably skilled in Full Custom, Mixed Signal, or possibly digital semiconductor layout the individual is likely to have used a range of custom layout tools from Cadence such as 4.X, 5.X. Applicants should be able to work to tight timescales, a lateral thinker who enjoys problem solving. Min. Qualifications HNC/HND in Electronic Engineering or related engineering discipline. At least 3 years experience of custom or semi-custom analogue or digital place and route /verification. Good understanding of ESD prevention techniques, signal shielding and component matching.
