PC Software Engineer, Sussex, DotNet, .NET, C#, SQL, UML, Embedded, Etherner, LonWorks, protocols, VB6
Detailed knowledge:
The Microsoft DotNET Version 2 support framework and the use of Microsoft C# (C Sharp) to produce Corporate-standard PC based applications that utilise a ?plug in? component archicture.
Microsoft Sequel Server Database design and deployment as part of a wider, multifunctional PC based application.
Communicating with embedded control systems from PC based programs using proprietary serial protocols.
Mature Graphical User Interface design to suit the Microsoft Windows XP Pro environment.
Object-oriented graphical user interface Windows applications programming in C# (C Sharp) and the .NET (Dot net) framework for industrial control and monitoring applications involving serial data communications protocols.
Structured and object-oriented design methodsDotNET/C# Code design for re-use Microsoft Coding Standards for DotNET/C# programs.
Legacy software language Microsoft Visual Basic 6.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience in the following would be an advantage:
UM, Embedded Ethernet, Communications protocols such as RS232/485, Modbus, Profibus etc.
Echelon LonWorks.
Other serial communications interfaces, protocols and networks.
The use of PC based analogue/digital IO cards from National Instruments, Eagle, Amplicon etc.
An understanding of general vacuum technology or the semiconductor processing industry.
A good first degree, BSc(Hons) or equivalent, in software engineering, computer science, electrical / electronic engineering, science or technology would be preferred.
