SMT Process Engineer urgently required for a major automotive supplier in the North East to develop, program, maintain and improve all SMT processes.
Candidates should have a proven track record of electronics assembly process engineering and Lead Free processing knowledge.
Based out of the North East facility your areas of responsibility a will be:-
Solder Printing
Placement
Solder Reflow
Wave/Selective Solder
Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFM)
New product Introduction (NPI)
Duties will include -
Develop, program, maintain and improve all SMT processes.
Optimize setup/programs to improve equipment effectiveness.
Analyze yield of SMT processes to ensure process capabilities and throughput.
Analyze SMT defects to determine likely failure modes.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques including poka-yoke, kaizen, one-piece flow.
Design/Development of new tooling for new/existing processes
Selection/liaison with Suppliers for both standard and bespoke equipment
Knowledge of PFMEA
