Electronic Hardware Design Engineer - Exeter - £30-£45k
This UK based Communications Company pioneers the use of wireless technology using innovative unique technology. This post is to take a leading role within the hardware development team. You'll carry out core development work from capture of product requirements/specification through to system design and testing. A strategic vision of what is required for the project, with a good appreciation of software capabilities and limitations, will be a core attribute of the successful candidate. The ability to manage the relationship with a major hardware contractor will also be required. You must have a good degree in Electronics or Physics with at least 3 years experience of the following:- Firmware, WiFi, C, TCP/IP, FTP and embedded software; Industrial product development; RISC architecture; Network systems design; Ability to select, source and manage suppliers and sub-contract manufacturers to ensure cost-effectiveness of product manufacture; Familiar with CE marking and a good understanding of the CE and EMC regulations, etc. ; Able to plan work schedules, produce Gantt charts and budgets, and be successful in working with management to keep to schedule and budget; Knowledge of RF Telecommunications; Design for manufacture/test/lifecycle/ROHS and WEEE directives; Some mechanical design skills and CAD experience.
