Software Engineer, Northants, device drivers, embedded, C, firmware, Linux, VXWorks, PCI, DSP, algorithm
My client have a vacancy for a Software Engineer who will develop and maintain built-in test software, board support packages and device drivers for PowerPC based embedded platforms.
Skills should include a high degree of competency in embedded C programming.
Also essential is experience in low-level firmware and drivers or board support package development under Linux.
Knowledge of VxWorks, PowerPC architectures, PCI and switched fabric networks is desirable.
Also, an appreciation of DSP algorithms, systems, networking and applications is advantageous.
The successful candidate must be flexible, work to timescales, have good communication skills and should be comfortable in a dynamic engineering environment. He or she will be capable of giving technical presentations and working technically with customers and sub-contractors worldwide and must also be prepared to travel.
