A leading Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company, based in Cheshire, is seeking a Technical Writer / Technical Author to join a leading edge team developing IC/Semiconductor simulation software tools for electronics engineers.
This position will involve researching, designing, developing, and maintaining learning products (technical documentation including user manuals, release notes, training material). You will be responsible for working from a variety of sources including marketing requirements, functional specifications and prototype software.
As a technical writer you will be expected to work closely with other members of the engineering team and contribute to quality improvements, where you will write to standards and style guidelines. You will work autonomously but part of an established core team where you will coordinate technical reviews, and test deliverables for clarity, accuracy, and usability.
The ideal Technical Author will have a strong background of FrameMaker, Acrobat, MS Word. A working knowledge of MS Windows, UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux Red Hat) is required. Skills in HTML, XML languages would be an additional advantage.
