This Globally recognised leading semiconductor supplier, currently seeks a Applications Engineer at various levels. The Marketing and Applications groups are key elements of the pan-European Industrial & Distribution Business Units, focusing on increasing their presence in Industrial, PC Peripheral and Distribution markets by providing customer/market specific system solutions:
The ideal applicant will be tasked with;
? System level product definition /specification for target markets (Metering, Energy Conservation, Fire & Security, Motor Control, Consumer Medical, Mass storage, Printers, PDAs etc.)
? IP development (Hardware & Software)
? Preparation of Application Notes and system block diagrams
? Specification and development of reference platforms
? Specification and development of ASSP
? Liaison with other offices world-wide
? Close co-operation with Marketing and Sales groups
? Customer Presentations
? Customer Project Support
Skills sought include;
? Sound microcontroller background (8-32 bit) including an understanding of basic peripherals UARTS, I2C, ADC etc.
? Experience of module development using C, assembler and low level driver applications.
? Hardware circuit design (Analogue & Digital).
? Experience in Communications protocols, Real Time Control and Data Acquisition techniques
? Good communications skills both verbal and written
? Systems knowledge of HVAC, Fire & Security, Metering, Motor Control, Energy conservation, and other industrial market areas
? Track record of delivering projects to specifications and within agreed timescales.
Personal Qualities:
? Electrical / Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent
? Self-motivated, with the ability to working in a team
? Able to work under pressure and strict deadlines
