Design Support Engineer
South East

This company is a market leader in designing and manufacturing electronic test and measurement instrumentation and systems for the wireless communications industry (e.g. GSM/GPRS/3G/UMTS etc.)
Currently they are seeking a technically minded person to join the Applications Support Team. This forms the interface between engineering new product design and commercial sales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers (both internal and external) in all technical areas related to the Company's supported instrumentation portfolio. This will be achieved by offering technical support, demonstrations, training and presentations. Coupled with the requirement to develop and enhance software to improve the performance of the supported instruments. The overall goal and cumulative effect will be increasing sales both directly and indirectly.
To be considered you will need a background of engineering in a mobile comms related industry with a working understanding of programming (Visual Basic, C/C++) for GSM/GPRS/EDGE protocols. It is expected that you will have excellent presentation skill and commercial acumen. Ideally you may be a design engineer who is now seeking more commercial bias, or may already be working in an applications/support capacity.
