A new and exciting chance has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Designer based in Slough, to join a market leader who design and manufacture optical components.
The role will be to work as part of a team designing and preparing for production, a wide range of novel plastic optical systems. The role is one combining mechanical design using ProEngineer and project management.
Candidates will have an opportunity to become fully involved in the engineering process. Working with Optical Engineers they will be involved in designing optical components and their mechanical housings and related parts.
Skills/experience:
Industrial engineering design experience
Competent in the use of 3D CAD (ProE, Solidworks etc)
Mechanical component design for injection moulding
Drafting and tolerancing to relevant international standards
Ideally candidates will be qualified to a degree or HND level in a related discipline. Appropriate training will be given to the candidate to enable them to fulfil this challenging role.
