My client is one of the World's largest and long established electronic component distributors that have offices in over 35 countries. They specialise in the distribution of semiconductors and passive, interconnect and electro-mechanical components. They are now seeking the services of a PCB Electronic Technician based in their offices in Berkshire.
The prime responsibility of the Electronics Technician will be to support engineers in the System Design Centre (SDC) in the design, build and verification of electronic design projects. The following will be primary tasks:-
1) Assembly of components onto prototype PCB designs (including surface mount)
2) Test of electronic boards, following instruction from engineers
3) Inspection, diagnosis and rework of failed boards
4) Simple PCB layout design using schematic drawings provided by design engineers (e.G. 4 layers board layout work maximum)
Key skills/requirements:
1) Prototype PCB assembly experience.
2) PCB layout experience.
3) Board testing experience
Candidates must be able to work as part of a team, use own initiative and generate new ideas and approaches. Good communication skills are essential.
