This highly successful global manufacturing/engineering business has a full order book and a prestigious blue-chip customer base. To stay ahead of the competition, they are now looking at new ways of improving the sourcing and procurement of commodity suppliers and materials. That's where you come in.
Managing a small team, you'll develop and implement procurement strategies to get the best return on an annual spend of around £30m. Full of fresh ideas you'll increase quality, value for money and supplier performance by developing a core group of committed suppliers. That means using your vendor management and measurement skills to co-ordinate commodity groups, manage suppliers and lead the purchasing process.
You'll need at least five years' relevant procurement experience gained in the Engineering or Manufacturing Sectors, ideally best practice international environments using SAP R3. But it's your ability to negotiate effectively, manage a responsive supplier base and drive costs down through innovative new processes that we're really looking for. Add a degree and, ideally a CIPS or equivalent qualification, and you'll receive plenty of support, training and development opportunities. You'll also enjoy the chance to make a big impact in the UK and across the $2 Billion turnover Global business.
