Our client is a highly successful software and services company providing solutions to the UK clothing and footwear sector. They currently seek a number of Management Consultants to join the team. The role will be based in Berkhamsted, but significant amounts of time will be spent at client sites throughout the UK.
They are looking for talented, experienced executives with strong business skills and specialist areas of expertise. The Retail Operations Consultant must possess an understanding of the Retail industry in general and specifically of how information technology can enable significantly improved business results for a Retail company. The Retail Operations Consultant will use this expertise to engage with customers for discussions concerning the use and value of the company's solutions and act as a senior advisor to the customer in solving specific business problems.
To fill the position they are seeking experienced professionals with a good understanding of the clothing and footwear industry and a real interest in and commitment to developing their career in a consultancy role.
Working with small project teams, the newly appointed Consultants will be expected to drive client assignments and will therefore need good analytical, creative problem solving and communication skills; capable of taking a logical approach to gathering evidence and structuring and presenting it comprehensively. In addition, the successful candidate will need to have the credibility and persuasion skills to deal effectively with both internal and external clients.
Consultants fulfil a substantial client-facing role not only in terms of leading presentations and client workshops, but also in supporting the development of new business. While Consultants do not have a formal sales target, they are nevertheless expected to contribute to the drafting and preparation of proposals, contribute to presentations and take an interest in business development, remaining alert to new opportunities for the business.
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of retail operations management.
- Candidates must possess management experience within the clothing and footwear industry sector.
- Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Desire to work in an information systems environment
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Have been involved in the implementation of a new, computerised system from the business user perspective.
Role:
- Leads self and/or team(s) in the design, development and delivery of consulting projects or components of larger, more complex projects
- Reviews and analyses client requirements or problems and assists in the development of proposals for cost effective solutions that ensure profitability and high client satisfaction
- Performs qualitative and / or quantitative analyses to assist in the identification of client issues and the development of client specific solutions
- Designs, structures and delivers client reports and presentations that are appropriate to the characteristics or needs of the audience
- Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems
- May identify new business opportunities or follow-on work and new leads at assigned client
- Proactively develops broader and deeper knowledge of related consulting methodologies and clothing and footwear industry
