Our client provides a complete range of consultancy, delivery and support services, allowing them to offer clients specific areas of expertise, or full end to end solutions. Their industry knowledge is extensive, with particular depth in finance, telecoms, utilities, manufacturing and the public sector - meaning they don't just understand the technical issues that clients face, but also the business context. The company employs approximately 900 employees in the UK (9,200 in Europe) across sites in Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Horsham, Oxford, Birmingham, Stevenage and Glasgow, and currently seeks an Oracle DBA to work throughout London and the South East, with a base location of Horsham.
You will be an experienced Oracle Database Administrator / Database Developer, able to:
* Work on support projects, both remotely and on-site resolving customer issues quickly and to client satisfaction
* Act as Database designer/DBA on development projects.
* Provide DBA consultancy and pre-sales support
* Travel as required
The candidate will have the following mandatory skillsets:
* Oracle 8i, 9i (on Windows/Unix environments)
* PL/SQL
You will preferably also hold the following desirable skills and attributes:
* Oracle 10g
* Oracle Portal
* SQL Server 2003/2005 & T-SQL skills highly desirable
* ETL experience useful – such as MS DTS, DataStage, Informatica, Genio
* SAP BASIS or Oracle APPS DBA skills would be useful
* Team player
* Good communication skills, customer facing
* Proactive, service orientated mentality
* Outgoing personality
* Self motivated
* Good organisational skills (ie time management, quality)
* RMAN
It is likely that the candidate will train in Microsoft SQL Server and other technologies such as ETL tools, as the needs arise. Ideally, the candidate will be located in the South or West of London to be able to commute to Horsham regularly and to client sites. For example current client locations include Horsham, Central London, Frimley & Bracknell.
