DESIGNER
Our client is a well established developer responsible for critically and commercially acclaimed titles. Due to an exciting new project they are now urgently looking for a talented and creative Designer to join their dynamic team based in the Midlands, UK. Salary: £16,000-£24,000.
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating ideas and designs for all aspects of the game specified via the game design document. They are the vision holder for the design and work with the team to see it through to completion, implementing and editing their levels using in-house design tools.
Skills required include:
• Must be proficient with 3D Studio Max (or similar 3D package)
• Must have a good understanding of design ethics – what motivates players, what does and doesn't work in game design
• Knowledge of video games and their appeal to the general public
• Should be good at presenting their ideas clearly, concisely with enthusiasm
• A broad understanding of the development process
• Will be thorough in their approach to problem solving and able to function independently when required
• Needs to be comfortable working to deadlines
• Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard
• Previous knowledge / experience of game design is beneficial
This is a Short Term Contract possibly leading to permanent.
