Our client is the UK arm of one of Europe's largest and most successful IT Services Organisations. The UK is one of the fastest growing and most strategically important markets for the Group, delivering a full range of IT Services to many of the UK's leading organisations.
They are looking for a Senior Microsoft SQL DBA (a DBA Guru not a Developer) to work on a High Availability Airline booking system. This is a critical system hence you must have experience with very large critical SQL Server databases, in particular troubleshooting, performance tuning, monitoring and 24x7 support. You must be dynamic, flexible and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of leading a team is also important.
Mandatory skills:
- Performance Tuning and Preventative Maintenance
- Troubleshooting and Disaster Recovery/Backups including log shipping
- Monitoring and Scheduling
- DTS, XML, XSLT, and T-SQL
Desirable skills:
- Visual Basic and VB .Net
- UML
- Web Development
