A leading European mobile telecommunications provider, our client is currently looking for a JUNIOR DATABASE ANALYST for a 3 month contract based at their Hertfordshire offices. Your role will include: database capacity planning, to aid developers with tuning issues along with aiding the developers with database related technical issues. The client has two major applications that need support - the Data warehouse and the Commission system. The main focus of the workload will relate to the data warehouse. They are looking for a candidate with excellent skills in the following: Oracle Database administration on Oracle 8i, PL/SQL, Korn Shell Scripting and also Sun Solaris. You will also need to ensure that the Database configuration guide is maintained, ensure development database backups complete successfully, these utilise RMAN and Oracle export and also to ensure the capacity plan is up to date.
