Senior Software Engineer (ANSI C, UNIX, Javascript), Urgent, Up to £60k We are currently looking for Senior Software Engineer (ANSI C, UNIX, Javascript) based in Cambridge. Familiarity with internet technologies such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, HTTP, TCP/IP, graphic file formats, etc. Extensive experience of programming in ANSI C Sound experience of, and willingness to program for both, Unix (including Linux) and Windows NT At least five years ’ experience of commercial software development, producing software that is correct, portable, robust and maintainable Highly Desirable:- Experience of some of the following: “make ” systems; source management tools (e.g. CVS); regression testing and other automated software testing approaches. This is a real heavyweight role. The work is innovative and extremely challenging. Even experienced software designers/engineers have found the learning curve steep. We seek candidates who can design as well as develop first-class ANSI C software which will run on both Unix and Windows In terms of what ’s definitely of interest, please focus on the following:- Actual software design experience (not just porting) Must have worked on embedded platforms First –class hands-on coding experience in C Knowledge of web standards (HTML, Javascript, CSS) would be useful And anyone who is immediately available will get extra attention! for further details, please email andrew@probecomms.co.uk or call on 0207 745 7213.
