They currently require a number of experienced engineers to join them working on new space, aerospace and defence projects.
Based in Welwyn on a permanent or contract basis, you will join a team developing software for mainly Linux-based systems using Rapid Application Development approaches. The role requires very experienced software developers with a good Java or C++ experience.
Within your remit to develop software according to defined standards and processes in dynamics teams, you will require the following qualifications/experience:
* Degree qualified software engineer
* Strong understanding of software lifecycle process
* Knowledge of design and implementation processes
* Sound knowledge of testing
* Knowledge of configuration control processes
* At least five years experience in a similar position
The following are essential skills for the role:
- C++
- Java Applications Development
- Linux
- Ability to work on own account or as part of a team
In addition, these skills are desirable:
* UML
* TCP/IP
* Experience of agile software development methodologies
* Previous experience of working in a science or high tech industry.
You will also:
* Be self-motivated
* Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with technical and non-technical staff
* Hold a flexible attitude particularly with regard to work and location
