Head of Network Design

With a live next-generation network carrying converged IP-based services today, our client has the strength both to maximise the depth of its existing relationships whilst attracting new customers and enriching the services it provides. They are looking to recruit a Head of Network Design.
The role:
Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will undertake the responsibility of Technical Design Authority for company's core network platforms.
Leading teams of specialists, you will aid revenue growth through the provision of a technical design capability to their Product, Bid and Sales organisations; ensure that all network platforms are appropriately dimensioned and future proofed; provide technical support and advice to frontline customer and operations teams. You will also contribute to the delivery of the company's business plan through the strategic planning, development and implementation of a single common IP network that will facilitate a continuing reduction in cost of sale, capitalisation and opex.
This is a highly visible position that requires a senior manager who is both comfortable and credible working as part of the company's management team. The successful candidate will possess a strong peer network within the IT/Telecoms industry and demonstrate a sound knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential applications.
Extensive experience of managing teams in engineering design management, as well as a detailed understanding of the core technologies that underpin the company's product portfolio is essential. Demonstrable experience of business plan development /delivery and the ability to manage budgetary controls within a commercial environment is also required.
