Senior ISP Support Senior Network Support Engineer
London, Vauxhall, SW8
To £50,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) + 20 working days per annum. Increasing by one day per year with the company to a maximum of 25 days per annum + Permanent Health Insurance
Our client has established a strong market presence as an integrated services provider of internet and telecommunications services, computer networks and telephone systems to SMEs within the M25.
They are a Microsoft Solution Provider, a Tier 2 ISP and Communications Provider. Working in partnership with world class suppliers, it has achieved an enviable reputation for quality of service amongst its customers.
They are looking to recruit a Senior ISP Support Senior Network Support Engineer.
The role:
They are looking for a Senior Network Support engineer to work within a team of ISP support staff. You will be the ultimate technical resource to the team and the company's customers alike. You will have a can do attitude with tenacity backed by the experience that all problems can be solved!
Ideally you will be a strong all rounder that can deliver on a multitude of projects and issues, as opposed to a Cisco or Unix specialist only.
The role involves:
* Troubleshooting IP routing issues Cisco IOS, BGP and OSPF.
* Support of Cisco PIX firewall and VPN configurations
* Provide senior Systems support on FreeBSD servers and apps. Exim, BIND, Apache, MySQL, Radius
* Writing small tools and scripts, usually in Perl or shell. C# (Mono) experience would be an advantage
* Provide pre-sales support on more complex network solutions
* Undertake projects to develop and deliver new products and services around SIP and LLU Broadband
Although you will be expected to mentor and support other team members, this is not a man-management role. The focus of this role will be taking complex projects from conception to completion.
