Managed IT Services Solutions Delivery Manager
West London
Up to £40,000 plus benefits + medical, dental, pension, travel insurance, non-contributory pension
Managed IT Services (MITS) is the group within our client's Availability Services Service Delivery that is responsible for all aspects of the management and maintenance of the hosted production environment and environs. The Solutions Delivery teams' primary function is to provide a single point of contact to new customers.
The role:
The Solutions Delivery Manager has the primary function of providing oversight and guidance to the Solutions Delivery team, comprising three distinct groups: Technical Design Authorities, Project Implementation Specialists and Hosting Technicians. This team are expected to provide an interface and support to the operational teams and provide tools and information to facilitate their roles. They are also responsible for the technical verification and implementation of all MITS solutions.
The Solutions Delivery Manager needs to be able to understand complex customer environments and provide constructive input and advice on best practice within a high availability environment. This advice is required to extend both to the customer, pre and post sale, and to internal teams.
The Solutions Delivery Manager will be required to undertake the technical lead in the presentation of technical and commercial solutions to a customer, in collaboration with the Account Manager. Working with the customer and internal teams in the preparation of a technically elegant and commercially viable hosting solution.
The Solutions Delivery Manager will be expected to have a very broad knowledge across a wide range of IT technology, including security, server hardware, management platforms, storage technologies, networks WAN and LAN, load balancing, clustering and data centre infrastructure. Provide technical and commercial support in contract negotiations and development.
The Solutions Delivery Manager will have strong communication and presentation skills and ability to confidently present at board level. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing company with an enviable reputation in the market place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Sales and Pre-Sales teams to design and provide best practice advice to customers looking to host solutions with the Company
- Develop, conduct and promote proactive procedures to improve the availability and support of MITS Systems environments
- Manage multiple projects of varying complexity to successful completion and operational handover
- Document customer operational environments and provide operational documentation to the operations teams
- Ensure installation of customer environments in a timely, effective manner and in line with contracted terms
- Provide a single point of contact and escalation to new and existing customers throughout their implementation projects
- Carry out all operational tasks and duties as defined within existing Operational Procedures and Service Level Agreement
- Assist in the production of documentation and technical implementation details related to solutions to customer requirements to enable successful post-production management of those solutions.
Educational Qualifications
* GCSE/ A Level or equivalent
Professional Qualifications
* Strong technical background in solution design and delivery within a managed solution provider environment
* Prince II qualified
* Team management experience within a service delivery organisation
Our client requires candidates to hold a current UK driving license and to be willing to travel overseas.
