Web Developer – XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Linux (Full Time/Part Time)
West London, Hammersmith W6
£ Attractive Package
A small but dynamic London (Hammersmith) design consultancy seeks an excellent all round full-time web developer with front and backend skills including very strong hand coded XHTML plus solid CSS, PHP 5, MySQL and Linux skills.
The role:
You will be required to maintain a wide range of existing sites (including some complex table based layouts using Dreamweaver) plus take control of all new web development work. You will work closely with the Creative Director to design fresh, funky and usable web layouts and HTML based email campaigns. Experience of developing E-Commerce sites along with payment gateway integration (Worldpay, ProTX etc) also needed. Must be self-driven and deadline aware.
The following skills are essential to your application:
* XHTML (to an excellent level)
* CSS (Cross-browser)
* OO PHP 5 & PHP 4
* MySQL (database design & administration)
* Photoshop (design, layouts, image optimisation)
* Dreamweaver (for legacy table based sites)
* Good Linux shell skills (SSH)
* Apache and PHP configuration
With some previous experience in a similar role, knowledge of any of the following would also be core:
* Web-based Admin (cPanel or Plesk etc)
* Flash
* Illustrator
* SEO
* Client facing
* Network administration/support skills
* Awareness Usability/accessibility issues,
* Design/layout skills
* Ecommerce experience (bespoke, out-the-box, etc)
* Image Ready (Animated gifs/banners)
* PC/Mac cross browser testing
* Fluent in both Windows & Mac operating systems
* Smarty (PHP template engine)
* Project management skills
* HTML email development
Previous experience of working within an agency environment is advantageous and live, high quality URLs are essential.
