SQL Server Database Administrator required by our Canary Wharf, London based to support and manage a number of Sybase and MS SQL server database environments. This challenging role will see you supporting a number of database environments, including database creation, dumps, loads, upgrades and security administration. This will include the management, monitoring and maintenance of nightly server processes, including database backups and scheduled maintenance tasks and review and running of SQL scripts into live production environments. You will also be installing and upgrading Server software, performing disaster recoveries and reviewing and deploying database upgrade scripts for internal (Development, QC, Implementation) and external clients. To be considered for this position you will have strong to advanced TSQL scripting experience with DBA experience with Sybase and/or MS SQL server (to include database security) – training on Sybase will be provided where skills are SQL server only. You will have a proven ability to multi-task with good teamwork and communication skills. A problem-solver with the ability to work under pressure. Desirable skills include knowledge of batch file programming, exposure to networking and Windows 2000/2003 server administration including event logs, registry, user administration, terminal services, Windows's scheduling and exposure to Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
