A strong knowledge of MySQL setup and optimisation is also a must, and knowledge of other native Linux DBMS would be an advantage. You should also be experienced in load balancing Apache web servers and the various options for scaling both web servers and database servers (e.g. clustering, replication, etc.).
A good work ethic is essential and you'll work closely with their Product Development head, making sure they can provide the kind of stability and expertise their clients demand. You will be their safe pair of hands.

5. Ensuring patching, upgrading and software back-ups occur on time
6. Analysing day-to-day running of our websites and advising development team where savings could be made in the speed of operation of the platform
7. Liaising with development teams and hosting companies in an emergency to manage the fault resolution process
8. A good understanding of the full development life cycle and how it applies to your work
9. Participation in documenting technical tasks and associated estimates
