C/UNIX Developer to cross-train into Perl required to be a valuable part of our client's Development Team based in Milton Keynes.The successful candidate will have technical competence in C, UNIX and Oracle and be able to : Develop Internet applications in Realtime systems ; be aware of the client's need for you to work towards becoming a competent Perl user. You will have a good knowledge of Data interfacing standards and methods. XML and SOAP, will be useful as you will be closely involved in the future development of the company's market leading software systems. A working knowledge of Apache ; Networking and C++ would be a further useful addition to your application. Our client is looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic and keen to learn about the industry, the company and its competitors. The position will become a key development role and requires an individual with initiative and good problem solving abilities. You should have a flexible, enquiring mind and be prepared to challenge the status quo. You should be able to work within guidelines but without the need for constant supervision. The position would best suit a determined individual who can achieve realistic targets. Above all, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they would be an exceptional rather than average employee and prove this through past successes, achievements and promotions.
