Senior Support Engineer required to join our client's busy Operations team based in Crewe, Cheshire. Expertise will be required in Web Servers, Networking, Unix (preferably Linux) Servers, Oracle 9i (ideally with 10g) with PL/SQL and a range of hardware systems. The client's internal office network is based on Microsoft 2003, and PCs running Windows and Office. You will be an experienced individual able to provide network, systems and application support to its managed service, which operates 24x7 combining Web technologies, realtime data collection, and large Oracle databases. Prior experience of software product development would be an advantage. The successful individual will have experience of working in a customer facing operational support environment and be happy within the primary role of supporting the 24x7 operation of analytics, administration and reporting product, and enjoy providing a managed service to the company's clients. Team leadership experience would be an advantage for this senior position which also gives the opportunity to lead and mentor more junior members of the Operations team. A good analytical mind and dedication to problem resolution will need to be demonstrated to be considered for this position. A background in a small-to-medium commercial enterprise, or small unit in a corporate, where multiple technical skills are required in normal day-to-day tasks would be desirable.
