SQL Server DBA (junior considered) required by our Blackpool, Lancashire client to provide everyday administration and first line support of SQL Server installations in both Development and Production environments in addition to assisting in the development of Transact SQL based reports and procedures. This challenging role will include housekeeping tasks associated with SQL Server installations including Backup and Recovery, Database housekeeping, Capacity planning, Installation and configuration of new SQL Server instances and SQL Programming to include Stored procedures, functions and triggers. To be considered you must be a strong and confident communicator, Microsoft certification (MCDBA) would be preferred although not essential due to the junior nature of the position. Essential skills include the ability to develop using transact SQL as well as having administrator capabilities. Any experience of Reporting Services, Analysis Services and data warehousing implementations would be advantageous.
