Our client is an expanding computer systems house involved in the design and supply of Community Care based software applications targeted mainly at Local Authority Housing and Social Service Sectors.
They currently have a vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer (TSE) to support our UK-wide customer base.
Candidates should have a background in Computers/ Communications, with at least 2 years helpdesk support experience in a PC environment. Experience of PC hardware and Windows NT/2000/XP is essential plus ideally networks. Previous experience on a helpdesk is essential as a working knowledge of helpdesk procedures is a must.
The Role:
Technical Helpdesk Support Engineer
A member of the helpdesk working as part of a wider team of Customer Support engineers responsible for the installation and maintenance of our Networked Computer systems this person will provide telephone support between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00. Duties to include:
·First/Second line telephone technical support
·Manage incoming customer support queries, log and resolve issues in an effective and orderly way
·Hardware Fault Diagnosis
·Hardware Fault Fix
·System Builds
·System Test
The Person:
We are looking for someone who has an enthusiasm for customer facing IT support; working within a customer service department as front line support. A team player that is confident in their own technical ability and in picking up new technologies and product areas in a short amount of time. Having been a user of Helpdesk software and all associated tasks, this person will have an appreciation of good communication and the importance of SLA’s. The ability to self manage is essential and you should be a well self motivated individual.
