Senior Software Engineer (ANSI C, UNIX, Javascript), Urgent, Up to £60k We are currently looking for Senior Software Engineer (ANSI C, UNIX, Javascript) based in Cambridge. Familiarity with internet technologies such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, HTTP, TCP/IP, graphic file formats, etc. Extensive experience of programming in ANSI C Sound experience of, and willingness to program for both, Unix (including Linux) and Windows NT At least five years’ experience of commercial software development, producing software that is correct, portable, robust and maintainable Highly Desirable:- Experience of some of the following: source management tools (e.g. CVS); regression testing and other automated software testing approaches. This is a real heavyweight role. The work is innovative and extremely challenging. Even experienced software designers/engineers have found the learning curve steep. We seek candidates who can design as well as develop first-class ANSI C software which will run on both Unix and Windows In terms of what’s definitely of interest, please focus on the following:- Actual software design experience (not just porting) Must have worked on embedded platforms First –class hands-on coding experience in C Knowledge of web standards (HTML, Javascript, CSS) would be useful And anyone who is immediately available will get extra attention! for further details, please email andrew@probecomms.co.uk or call on 0207 745 7213.
