Our client is the UK arm of one of Europe's largest and most successful IT Services Organisations. The UK is one of the fastest growing and most strategically important markets for the Group, delivering a full range of IT Services to many of the UK's leading organisations. They are looking to recruit a Microsoft SQL Senior Server DBA / Senior Systems Builder.
The role:
The role is for a Senior Microsoft SQL DBA (a SQL DBA Guru not a Developer) to work on a High Availability Airline booking system. This is a critical system hence the individual must have experience with very large critical SQLServer databases, in particular troubleshooting, performance tuning, monitoring and 24x7 support. The candidate must be dynamic, flexible and have excellent communication skills.
You will hold Microsoft SQLServer DBA skills including:
- Performance Tuning
- Troubleshooting
- Disaster Recovery/Backups including log shipping,
- Monitoring
- Scheduling
- DTS
- XML
- XSLT
- T-SQL
- Team Leading skills
- Preventative Maintenance
The following skills are also desirable:
- Visual Basic
- VB .Net
- UML
- Web Development
In addition, you will hold good communication skills and will be a flexible, proactive, team player.
