Business Continuity Manager
Tyne and Wear, Newcastle

This is a new role for our client and a great opportunity to add a new focus to the team. The Business Continuity Manager's role is to prepare the UK business for a state of readiness in the event of a crisis. Responsible for maintaining and managing the Company's business continuity programme, you will raise awareness throughout the business regarding disaster recovery, ensuring that Heads of Department know what to do in the event of an emergency.
Maintaining the business continuity system and disaster recovery plans so that they continue to reflect commercial operations of the company is key. You will work closely with Facilities and IS departments, and liaise closely with key stakeholders throughout the business to ensure that all commercial areas are supported. Testing the process on a regular basis is vital, managing lessons learned from testing and actual incidents.
In the event of an actual crisis you will be in the hot seat. You will be managing the crisis management team with all the resources of the company at your disposal to get us up and running again by the next working day. In such a crisis you will be reporting directly into the Regional CEO. You will be on standby night or day for such a crisis. As such, this role is not for the faint hearted.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of end to end processes of the company, and should have knowledge of the IT systems and infrastructure concepts.
This is a key role for the company, and requires an individual who thrives under pressure and when required to think quickly, and make common sense decision. You will be a calm thinker, who is confident in their knowledge, enough to make decisions without time for long reflection.
