Job Summary:
This is a new opportunity for a quantity surveyor with experience of working with utilities to join an existing team on a 5 month contract. The contract could be extended beyond this time scale.
The role is to advise on financial and contractual issues relating to the quantities of materials supplied to construction projects.
Main Tasks & Duties
- Draw up contracts specific to the nature and quantity of raw materials.
- To review tenders received and advise clients of the most cost effective option.
- Draw up detailed cost plans and advise contractors and engineers on the limits they must work to in terms of quality and costs
- Keep clients informed of project costs and discuss and agree variations.
- Measure and value work in progress to ensure that it is within the agreed specification and maintain awareness of developments in quantity surveying and the costs of materials.
- Critical Background Experience (essential)
- Must have a technical qualification.
- Must have 3 years experience of the field of quantity surveying.
- Must have up to date knowledge of construction materials.
- Must have proven negotiation skills.
