This position is within my clients Transport Planning Division based in Hampshire, which covers all aspects of transport planning from policy research and strategic appraisal through to development assessment and traffic engineering. The Policy and Plans business (one of three market-facing business streams within Transport Planning) deals with the development of traffic models, transport plans and studies We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player to strengthen the Policy and Plans business unit in our WinchesterÌ ìofficeÌ, ìwho will welcome the challenge of developing and implementing transport policy for a range of projects and clients. Ô Duties and ResponsibilitiesÔ He/she would support and assist the work of other staff working within a team, reporting to a team leader and project managers, and be expected to perform the following duties: ·ÔInvestigate transport provision and problems ·ÔCollate and analyse data ·ÔProduce recommendations and conclusions ·ÔWrite reports on projects as directed ·ÔProduce reports on projects as directed ·ÔAssist with preparation of tender documents, provides information for reports and participates in particular investigations as required ·ÔEvaluate engineering problems, consulting senior staff as necessary ·ÔPossess working knowledge of appropriate computer software with respect to data input and analysis ·ÔUndertake assignments on his/her own without day-to-day supervision ·ÔEnsure tasks are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets ·ÔLiaise with other disciplines and clients as required on technical aspects ·ÔKeep up-to-date in his/her discipline ·ÔCarry-out site workÔ RequirementsÔ ÂEssentialâ ·ÔAt least 3 years’ post-graduate experience in traffic engineering and transport planning ·ÔDegree in geography, mathematics, civil engineering or other numeric subject ÂDesirableâ Priority will be given to candidates with (knowledge/experience of) several of the following: ·ÔTransport related MSc ·ÔUK local authority backgroundÔ Personal Attributes and SkillsÔ Applicants should have the ability to work on a diverse range of projects under his/her initiative. He/she should have a desire to improve his/her technical ability and possess good organisational and communication skills.Ô The succesfull applicant can expect a starting salary of upto c£35K
