Our Clients are a leading supplier of Engineering Services to the UK Process Industry with long term contracts to support customer manufacturing operations. Located in Runcorn Cheshire, they are looking for a Senior Construction Manager
Candidates should ideally have experience working on Chemical Plants or similar.
Job Purpose
As part of the senior team responsible for meeting customer requirements you will lead the productivity improvement processes for delivery of main trade construction/maintenance tasks. Experience of working in the process industry in regulated safety environments is essential, with experience of the Chemical Industry desirable. Strong track record in leading change, managing trade supervisors and a broad base of Industrial Relations knowledge will be necessary.
The job holder will also be required to improve the contribution construction planning should bring to productive working and engage closely with our design engineering teams to ensure the design process reduces the hours necessary to complete construction.

Key Accountabilities
- Managing and developing the contribution of trade supervisors to safe and productive construction performance in construction/maintenance projects
- Leading the development of appropriate work planning processes to improve trade productivity and eliminate lost time during execution
- Managing a team of construction managers with the prime responsibility for safe and effective execution of project work across all customer operations.
- Leading the process of main trade recruitment with the necessary skills and competencies necessary for productive delivery of work to the required engineering specifications
- Managing IR issues including when necessary leading all disciplinary processes in accordance with company policy
- Working improvement processes with Project Engineers and Design Engineers to maximize execution productivity through effective design provision.
Other Duties
- Contribute to the development and improvement of our service delivery to a key customer as part of the senior management team.
- Implement Company Safety policy across all operations on the customer site, including development of work risk assessment
- Contribute to improvements in QA processes and the inspection of work by trade supervisors.
- Support as necessary company sales teams when demonstrating to potential customers the approach to improvement and productive working in hazardous environments.
Qualifications and Experience
You will need either a degree and 5 years experience in Construction Management or an HND and 10 yrs experience in Construction Management
