Our Client is an established Information Technology group specialising in delivering bespoke network services.
Job Purpose
The Carrier Operations department is responsible for all aspects related to the delivery of last mile connectivity from Communication Providers and Telehotel suppliers encompassing purchasing, supply, relationship management and third party product support of our client's preferred suppliers' services.
Reporting to the Access Services Manager, the Carrier Operations Specialist plays a key role in providing full life-cycle support for all aspects related to the delivery and in-life support of last mile connectivity
Responsibilities and Duties
- The Carrier Operations Specialist role has two main areas of responsibility
- Pricing and Delivery Function
* Provide a quotation service to Sales teams upon request, seeking best price from approved suppliers.
* Procurement & delivery of new access services, in particular but not exclusive of: xDSL services, Leased Line Services Telehotel services Dark Fibre, BT Interconnect
* BT PPC Infrastructure Capacity Management, POH, 2Mb Bearer's to BT's DPCN, initiating new services as required ensuring customer commitments met
* Interconnect planning & provision of 2Mb Bearer circuits to BT DPCN including the allocation of JKLM's.
* Interconnect planning of all BT services including the allocation of correct timeslots & JKLM, particular attention to be paid here for any voice services.
* CP Order handling function – seeking internal approval and placement of all orders upon request to solution specification eg correct level of resilience & diversity. Predominately BT using eco provision, manual appendices for BT PPC POH and Interconnect products. Use of other operators' online systems such as Telewest online plus manual order forms through to order acceptance for all other operators.
* Monitoring all provisions, keeping implementation teams informed of any CP communication such as FOCR, FOCA, CON and delays in provision
* Ensuring weekly communication of provision reports to implementation teams takes place in line with expectations
- In-Life Function
* Carry out invoice qualification and reconciliation for all partner services.
* Supporting the Access Services Manager and Access Services Lead, monitor, report & facilitate financial credits due to poor performance / inaccurate billing or service cessation of business partner services.
* Provide support for other team members as and when required to ensure seamless co-ordination of all In-Life matters.
* Cessation of In-life partner services upon request.
* Maintain In-life service information within Our client's systems for all third party suppliers of leased infrastructure, Private Circuits and Telehousing facilities.
* Where appropriate identify, develop & document process and procedures to support the Carrier Operations function.
- Provide initial point of escalation for any Access Services issues.
General
- Supporting the Access Services Manager and Access Services Lead, measure and monitor service delivery performance against contractual requirements throughout the life-cycle of the contract.
- Work Flexibly as a member of the Carrier Operations Department, willing to undertake any other relevant duties as may be reasonably requested.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience within Telecommunications industry with good knowledge of current products and services.
- Flexible individual with the desire to learn new skills.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experienced, detail conscious professional.
- Self motivated to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Educated to a minimum of GCSE Standard or equivalent.
- Good personal presentation.
