VoIP and telecommunications gateway company requires a Product Software Tester to perform feature testing using trace debugging on their gateways/modems to byte level (such as sending messages and analysing trace responses for possible connection issues). This includes manual and automated testing, traffic generation and reproduction of field issues.
They use PC level software and their own proprietary real-time operating system (RTOS). In this role there is some scope to do Perl programming or Linux shell scripting, though this is not the main purpose of the job.
To be considered you should ideally have around two or more years professional experience in a relevant technical role, ideally in telecoms or data. The position is varied and requires an energetic self-starter who can quickly pick up the basics of new technologies. They will also need to have good communication skills as there may be some customer contact from time to time.
