Our Client is one of the worlds leading Geo-information companies developing systems and software specific to the management of geographic data, principally including imagery and information acquired from earth observation satellites and aircraft.
As a result of internal promotion they are looking to recruit an EO Applications Specialist who will be proficient in image processing and/or GIS, in order to support the Oil, Gas and Minerals Group and other areas of the Company Business.
Essential Skills
- Several years experience using two or more of the following Image Processing / GIS products in a commercial environment
- ER Mapper
- ERDAS Imagine
- PCI
- ENVI
- ArcGIS
- Customer Liaison
- Ability to communicate effectively to staff and management
- Self-motivating and be able to work as part of a team as well as working in an independent discipline
Preferable Skills
- Earth Sciences or Geological background
- Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree
- Satellite image processing applied to geological and environmental analysis
Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide expertise in remote sensing, image processing and GIS for applications within the Oil, Gas and Minerals Group – both Onshore and Offshore applications.
- To liaise with Management and other staff to identify opportunities for improved remote sensing / GIS solutions and the subsequent development and implementation.
- To provide training in Image Processing and / or GIS to the Oil, Gas and Minerals Group, external clients and other departments within Infoterra.
- To provide advice and instruction to Infoterra current and prospective customers, where appropriate.
- To maintain awareness of and develop remote sensing / GIS technologies and techniques that are relevant to the Oil, Gas and Minerals industry, with special relevance to Our Client's future position within that industry.
- To actively promote quality management and work within the scope and guidelines of our client's Quality Management System.
- Responsible for project work, technical management and staff supervision within a project framework.
